The Causeway road crosses the Yar at Freshwater. Yarmouth Church tower can be seen in the distance. A bridleway along the old railway track connects Freshwater to Yarmouth.

The Causeway is sometimes flooded by high tides. The white cottage was the railway crossing keeper's.

The Island occasionally gets a little snow. This view is from the old railway track. Yarmouth is in the distance.

The old railway route runs along the eastern side of the Yar estuary.
